How do I know when I need and Investigator ? 

ANSWER:

If you can't get the police or the States Attorney to investigate for you at no cost.

 

QUESTION:

Why would I need an Investigator to investigate a criminal offence ? 

ANSWER:

If you are not satisfied with the police investigation, or in the case of Criminal Defense when the police are investigation against you. 

 

QUESTION:

How much should I pay for an investigation ? 

ANSWER:

If you are paying more than 75 dollars an hour, you are paying too much. 

 

QUESTION:

Are there any guarantees in an investigation ? 

ANSWER:

The only guarantees in any investigation should be...

1) That the Investigator knows what he is doing, and will do his/her best.
2) That the Investigator will keep a detailed log of his/her time and activities to explain all expense.
3) That your investigation will remain confidential.
 

QUESTION:

Should I have to pay up front for an investigation ? 

ANSWER:

Yes, most all Detective Agencies work with a retainer. 

 

QUESTION:

What if I'm not satisfied with the Investigator ? 

ANSWER:

Report him/her to the Licensing Agency in that State. In most States they will take immediate action. 

 

QUESTION:

How much should the average investigation cost ? 

ANSWER:

There is no average, each investigation is different.

 

QUESTION:

How do I know I've hired a respectable Investigator, from a legitimate agency? 

ANSWER:

The Detective Agency should have a license displayed or willing to show it upon request. And the Investigator should also have his/her own License, or registration card on their person at all times, especially when they are working. The Detective agency should also have proof of insurance, that's the Law.

 

QUESTION:

Can I pay an Investigator with a credit card over the internet ? 

ANSWER:

Only if they are using encryption software as a part of the payment process.
